Workshop, former administrative building of Rietavas Manor, built in the second half of the 19th century. It is a two-story brick building decorated with a quadrangular clock tower. In the times of the Dukes, it housed the manor office, the district board, the manor and district cash offices, and guest rooms on the second floor. In 1923-1948, the Rietavas Forestry department was located there. At the beginning of the 20th century, the building was reconstructed by adding an eastern gable to the tower and enlarging the northern wing, which changed the appearance of the building and the manor. From 1949 to 1957, the NKVD operated there. The Soviet security forces imprisoned, interrogated and tortured people from Rietavas who were considered enemies of the government. Lithuanian partisans and their supporters who had been killed in the vicinity were brought to this building and desecrated. During the Soviet era, the building housed the Rietavas hospital for palliative care and nursing, which is still in operation today. Inside the building, an authentic internal openwork cast-iron staircase has been preserved. From the top of the tower, the view of Rietavas and the surrounding area is spectacular.
