This is a hand-worked stone found near the Pribitka graveyard. The sculpture is 5-6 thousand years old. The stone was found by St. Laurinavičius brought this stone to his yard from the fields of Kaupai village, near the Pribitka burial site, maybe a couple of decades ago. Back then, he was still working as a driver on the collective farm, driving past the piles of boulders piled up by the reclaimers, and choosing the more interesting ones to decorate the homestead. So this one caught my eye - a strange one with a deep hole. He brought back the clay and dirt, washed it, and then saw four more depressions, like small bowls. He put them in the street at the entrance to his yard, next to the other stones. It had been sitting in the street for two decades, but nobody took much interest in it - it was just a stone. In 2002, a reconnaissance archaeological expedition was organised in Tverai. Archaeologists from Vilnius passed by St. Laurinavičius' yard, the archaeologists from Vilnius immediately noticed this stone, or rather the five hollows that had been carved into it. The leader of the expedition, archaeologist Br. Dakanis concluded that it was not a product of nature, but of human hands. He said that it is likely to be the oldest sculpture in Lithuania, as such smooth bowls in stone are typical of the early Iron Age. Previously, it was thought that there were no such stones in Lithuania, but they were found in Greece, Scandinavian countries, russia, Latvia and Estonia. Now, about 20 of them have been found in our country. The stone has now been taken further into the yard. The owners are happy to welcome tourists who want to see one of Lithuania's oldest sculptures.
