The house, known as "kryžiaunia", was built in the second half of the 19th century in the southern part of the homestead, behind the area enclosed by the old fence. It is believed to have been the dwelling house of people who worked on the estate. From 1944 to 1953 it was the headquarters of the NKVD. A black marble plaque reads: 'This house was the headquarters of the NKVD in 1944-1953. This is where the Soviet executioners, the NKVD and their henchmen, the Stribs, tortured and killed innocent people who fought for Lithuania's freedom.
