The church was built in 1897.In 1907, a wooden bell tower - the largest in Lithuania - was built behind the church churchyard. The churchyard has 14 red brick chapels with Stations of the Cross. The churchyard gates are in the Semitic Baroque style, which are the only ones in Lithuania. The gate has unique inscriptions and the names of the founders of the gate have been preserved. The interior of the church is decorated with an altar with sculptures and paintings of saints. There are two wooden chapels in the churchyard, which are listed in the Cultural Register.
